Start Tennis Sydney offers private and small-group tennis coaching for adults (18+) of beginner to early-intermediate ability. All new clients must complete a trial session before accessing standard sessions or the 4-session pack. The trial is the entry point to all coaching services.
1-on-1 trial clients receive an exclusive free 15-minute discovery call with Jack prior to their on-court session. Group trial clients (2–4 people) do not receive the discovery call.
Payment must be completed in full via Stripe before any session time is confirmed. Clients cannot schedule their session until payment has been received. There is no pay-on-the-day, pay-after, or reserve-now-pay-later arrangement.
After payment is confirmed, Jack will personally send a confirmation page containing Cal.com scheduling links for the discovery call and on-court session. All payments are processed exclusively through Stripe. No cash, bank transfer, PayID or cheque is accepted.
All session rates are fully all-inclusive. The price you see is the total you pay — no separate court hire, no hidden fees. Trial rates: Waverley Park $90 · Northbridge Park $70. Standard: Waverley $130 · Northbridge $110. 4-session pack: Waverley $110 · Northbridge $90 per session. Group rates vary by group size — see starttennissydney.com for full pricing.
Sessions are held at Waverley Park (Cnr Goldie Avenue & James Street, NSW 2022) or Northbridge Park & Memorial Reserve (Sailors Bay Road, Northbridge NSW 2063). Jack arranges all court bookings — clients do not need to book the court separately. Venue is confirmed in writing before payment is due.
More than 48 hours notice: Full cash refund via Stripe.
Less than 48 hours notice: No refund. No exceptions unless a valid GP medical certificate is provided within 24 hours of the missed session — in which case a session credit (valid 3 months) is issued. This exception applies once per 6-month period.
No-show: Full session fee forfeited. No refund or credit issued.
Jack cancels: If Jack cancels and cannot offer a make-up session within 30 days, a full Stripe refund is issued.
Jack will wait up to 15 minutes for a late client. The session will not be extended. If a client has not arrived within 15 minutes without prior notice, the session may be treated as a no-show at Jack's discretion.
Clients may attend with fewer people than originally booked. Price adjusts to actual attendance if 48 hours notice is given. If only 1 person attends a group booking, the 1-on-1 standard rate applies. No adjustment is made for unannounced no-shows within the group.
The 4-session pack is available once per new client or group only. Credits expire 6 months from purchase and are non-transferable. Standard cancellation policy applies per session credit. Credits are non-refundable except at Jack's sole discretion in exceptional circumstances.
If conditions are deemed unplayable by Jack, no cash refund is issued — a session credit (make-up lesson) is provided instead. Jack will notify clients as early as possible via SMS if a session is cancelled due to weather.
By proceeding, you confirm you are aged 18 or over, physically capable of participating in recreational tennis, and have disclosed any relevant medical conditions or injuries to Jack prior to your first session. Jack holds current ATPCA coaching insurance including Public Liability and Professional Indemnity coverage.
Personal information collected (name, date of birth, contact details, tennis background) is used solely for the purpose of providing coaching services. It is not shared with third parties except where required by law. Data is stored securely and may be used to send session reminders or booking confirmations.
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. By proceeding you agree to these terms in full. These terms were last updated April 2026.

I, the undersigned, voluntarily agree to participate in tennis coaching sessions provided by Jack He trading as Start Tennis Sydney (ABN registered, NSW). I acknowledge and agree to the following:
1. Assumption of Risk: I understand that tennis is a physical activity that carries inherent risks of injury, including but not limited to sprains, strains, fractures, and other physical injuries. I voluntarily accept these risks.
2. Release of Liability: To the fullest extent permitted by law (including the Civil Liability Act 2002 (NSW)), I release and discharge Jack He and Start Tennis Sydney from any and all claims, demands, or causes of action arising from participation in coaching sessions, except where caused by gross negligence or wilful misconduct.
3. Medical Fitness: I confirm I am physically fit to participate in tennis coaching and have disclosed any relevant medical conditions, injuries, or limitations to Jack prior to my first session. I accept sole responsibility for any undisclosed conditions.
4. Emergency Medical Treatment: In the event of a medical emergency, I consent to Jack or emergency services providing or arranging any necessary medical treatment on my behalf.
5. Australian Consumer Law: Nothing in this waiver excludes, restricts or modifies any rights or remedies I may have under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)) that cannot be excluded, restricted or modified by agreement.
6. Electronic Signature: I understand that my electronic signature below constitutes a legally binding agreement under the Electronic Transactions Act 1999 (Cth) and the Electronic Transactions Act 2000 (NSW).
